Horsey Lightly Fynn Solicitors & Town Planners

Our History...

The firm can trace its London origins back to 1891 when we first opened for business at 23 Queen Anne's Gate - just 'a stone's throw' from our present London offices in Dartmouth Street, Westminster. From 1908 to 1918, by then trading as Hills Godfrey Halsey, the firm remained at the Queen Anne's Gate address until joining forces with a Mr. John Morton Fothergill Lightly. The new partnership opened for business on 1st January 1919 as Halsey Lightly and Hemsley, moving a short distance across St. James' Park to 32 St. James' Place, SW1.

There we remained until 1972 when we moved our London office back to Queen Anne's Gate, in Carteret Street SW1, before, in 1997, relocating to our present larger premises at 12-15 Dartmouth Street SW1 - and opening our present office in Oxford in 1984 - by which time the partnership name had become Halsley Lightly.

Specialising throughout in serving high net worth and professional private clients, we have further expanded both our locations and our range of services through a series of strategic mergers and new partnerships culminating in our joining forces, in 2000, with the Newbury-based partnership of Horsey Bomer & Partners and, in 2002, with the West End firm of Landau & Landau and with the Bournemouth firm of Fynn & Partners - prompting our present partnership name of Horsey Lightly Fynn.

From our offices in London, Newbury, Oxford and Bournemouth, we now serve a growing list of 'blue-chip' corporations, smaller commercial businesses and private clients, nationally and internationally.
